body which provides certifications related to security management to
individuals since 1977.The organization consists of more than 38,000 members.
The aim of the organization is to provide education which will help the

society can lead a secure and stable life. PSP,
ASIS Physical Security Professional is one of the certifications offered by
the institute to enhance the technical knowledge and competence of the
candidates seeking to achieve it. It helps to identify and assess threats,
analyze the risks associated with them and address those risks by implementing

Eligibility Criteria
To undertake PSP, ASIS Physical Security Professional
certification a person should either:

Possess four years of experience in progressive
physical security with a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or,

Possess six years of experience in progressive
physical security with associate degree, GED equivalent or high school diploma
Preparation
A number of resources are available to the
candidates to prepare for the PSP, ASIS Physical Security
Professional exam. The study
material available includes online and CD reviews. A reference set
comprising of eight publications is also available on the website. In order to

Exam Outline
The PSP, ASIS Physical Security Professional exam is based on 125

establishment of security system (design & structure) and security measures

Fees& Policies
ASIS provide the facility of taking either
computer based or pencil and paper based exams. Computer based exams can be
taken at various locations around the world whereas pencil and paper based
exams are only limited to a very few locations. The fee structure of PSP, ASIS Physical Security Professional
for computer based exams is $300
for members and $450 for non- members. The application for certification can be
applied online after payment of fee. This exam can be taken thrice in a period
of two years and that period starts from on which approval is granted to
undertake the exam. Moreover those individuals who do not take the exams within
the approved period will have to resubmit their applications. Applications
which are submitted but do not get the approval get expired after tenure of two
years. Like any other exam this exam also requires certain level of dedication
and competence to achieve a passing grade.
